Hamburg 2025

In 2025, I took part in a few meetings of the Hamburg Sketchers. It’s always nice and inspiring to draw together with others. Most of the time, we go for coffee afterwards, and of course we keep on drawing there.

We meet at the harbor, by the water

in parks

and sometimes in lively spots around the city.

Oldtimer Tankstelle

Cars have never really interested me, and I usually can’t recognize models unless I can read the brand. The one exception is the Peugeot 404 – I recognize it instantly because it’s tied to fond memories from my youth.

But ever since I discovered the vintage gas station, I enjoy going there once a year to sketch. The station was built in 1953 and has been fully restored to its original glory.

The Hamburg sketchers, many of whom are true car enthusiasts, love to gather there. There are lots of beautiful classic cars to admire, proud owners, curious visitors –

and absolutely amazing chips!
